Barron County Model Railroad Club is an open group of people who love trains, model railroads and to tinker endlessly. We meet once a month. We go to train shows in Wisconsin, Minnesota and even as far as Sioux Falls, South Dakota sometimes.
We have a large train setup that is in modules which are hauled in a trailer. It takes about a 45 minutes to set up and take down. Then we run our trains.
May Newsletter and Events written by our Newsletter guru, Tyler.
Greetings members and welcome to the May 2025 newsletter. Thought I would write the newsletter a day early before the month of May starts on Thursday (tomorrow). Announced from last month's meeting was dates in Maiden Rock, Wisconsin for a weekend in June, July 12th and 13th and August 9th and 10th. (If corrections of dates are needed, please let me know) Announcement to pass along. The Lumberjack Steam Train and Camp 5 Museum will be open for the season starting June 17th and last till August 16th. It's not clear of any special runs to happen, but I will wait on further details if the museum will be announcing special runs after the regular season, so please be patient and I'll pass it along. Also, we've come to the end of the 2024/2025 season as our last club meeting is this coming Sunday on Star Wars Day (May 4th) at Jon Bratt's house {see our secretary's email}. In addition, Jon Bratt will make the main course, which is barbeque and he's asking other members who are attending to bring side dishes and appetizers. With that, here's what else is happening this month. This coming weekend as well during the Star Wars weekend is also the Titletown Train Show on May 3rd and 4th, with a raffle giveaway of a 4x8 HO scale layout Sunday before the close of the show at 3pm. May 10th (Saturday) is National Train Day at the Lake Superior Railroad Museum in Duluth, Minnesota, with the Lake Superior Transportation Club hosting a flea market at the Great Hall in the St. Louis County Depot. Also on May 10th is the Spring Hobby Show and Sale at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds Education Building in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
